There’s some fine print at the bottom of the Ultius homepage. A few things caught our attention there. For example, it says that the “graduate writer pool” is only 7.3% of all writers that this essay service has in its database. What this means is that your papers won’t be written by people with MA or Ph.D. degrees, which is the case with some of the best writing agencies. Here, people with college degrees or even writers without degrees can work on students’ papers.
That would be alright if Ultius made it clear when it promises great quality. It’s there in the fine print, but it’s not. The price is way too high for the quality you get at this service.
Let’s get into the details of our Ultius review, shall we?
Services Offered at Ultius
The services are organized into four categories:
- Writing Help
You can order a college essay, research paper, capstone project, thesis, dissertation, and a few other services. We have to say that the list is not impressive. It lacks lab reports, programming assignments, and some other commonly requested assignments.
- Editing
Editing assistance is available for the same (limited) list of services.
- Business
This is a nice category that we rarely see from writing agencies. It’s the highlight in most Ultius.com reviews. You can order a resume, CV, or cover letter here.
- Admissions
College applicants can order personal statements and admission essays. The essays come in a few types: study abroad, med school, law school, business school, and grad school.
Prices
The prices are categorized according to educational level: high school, undergraduate, Master, and Doctoral. In the fine print, it’s clear that there aren’t many writers with MA and Ph.D. degrees here. Something else is confusing. What do you mean “High School” as a writer level? Maybe there’s a mistake and they meant student’s level? Ultius.com should provide some clarification since it makes no sense to hire a writer at the high-school level to complete papers for you.
Anyway, the quotes start at $17.50 for 20 days at the high-school level. The deadlines can be as short as 3 hours, but not for the doctoral level. The highest quote is $75 per page for the Master level with a deadline of 3 hours.
Given the fact that the service doesn’t deliver good quality, it’s no wonder why students complain about the outrageous prices in most Ultius reviews.
Quality of Papers
There’s another thing in the fine print: they say they cannot guarantee 100% uniqueness of the content. Free revisions are available, but urgent amendments come at an additional cost. We can’t help but label this as Ultius scam. What do you mean by urgent revisions are paid? When a student sets a deadline of 7 days, they expect a perfect paper by then. If they require minimal revisions, they expect them to be done in less than a day, so they can still submit the paper on time. Ultius charges to revise the papers. If you don’t want to pay, the revisions will take at least a week.
Our Ultius reviews are based on real experience, so let’s talk about it. Our content was plagiarized by 11.9%. We used Copyscape to check; the same tool that Ultius claims to use. They refused to urgently revise the content. They said that if we don’t want to pay extra, the revisions would take a few days. We decided to wait and yes; the Ultius writer took their time. We got the paperback in 6 business days.
Originality wasn’t the only issue. Obviously, this was rewritten content that lacked unique ideas. But it was also poorly written, despite the fact that we ordered the Master’s quality.
Support Team
This Ultius review would be more positive if the support team took care of our requirements for revisions. But when we contacted them, they were rude. The agent said: “You should always read the terms and conditions before placing the order.” Well, we didn’t expect to be scammed.
Anyway, Ultius.com offers a few contact options: chatbot, live chat specialist, and messenger. We used the live chat specialist feature and a real agent answered. That’s good, but the customer support center doesn’t really offer support.
Speed of Delivery
Ultius delivered the content on time. That’s a positive aspect of our Ultius.com review. We chose the deadline of 7 days and the essay was ready by then. However, the free revisions took longer than expected. If you want the content revised sooner, the service charges a high price considering this as an extra service.
Special Offers
Since the prices are high, you would appreciate getting your Ultius essay through a promotional offer, right? The discount is only 15% for new customers, and it requires a code: newcast.
There are some free features, such as title and references page, editorial review, and “writer matching technology,” whatever that means. They also promise free revisions but fail to deliver as we already saw in our Ultius.com review.
General Impression
The Ultius writing quality was a huge disappointment for us. The service looks professional at first sight. They promise American writers, have a decent list of services, and set high prices that made us expect high quality.
The paper we ordered for the purpose of this Ultius review was terrible. The writer didn’t know anything about this topic and rewrote information. There was plagiarism in it and the service failed to fix the issue on time.
